Description
Physicians. Correspondence (1924–1955) regarding personal affairs and selected national affairs such as health care, socialized medicine, the threat of nuclear weapons, and the U.S. government’s response to those issues. The correspondence also refers to the Oklahoma County Consumers Council, a depression-era federal agency established by the National Emergency Council. Other series include manuscripts (circa 1915–1935) by the Blachlys on various aspects of national health, and a short autobiography of Lucile Blachly; certificates and diplomas (1928–1950) awarded the Blachlys for the practice of medicine; minutes (1934–1936) of the meetings of the Oklahoma County Consumers Council and of its committees; and publications (circa 1932–1936) of the Oklahoma County Consumers Council regarding the results of surveys by that agency investigating the prices of food and the availability and quality of housing and health care in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, area.
