Philanthropist. Correspondence (1923–1974); financial records (1922–1978); travel logs and manuscripts (1964–1978) of trips to Australia, Oceania, the Near East, and the Far East; and posters (circa 1940) by British Railways advertising the policy at its Preston, England, station of forbidding local boys from “engine spotting” from the platform. Also included in this collection are publications (1941–1963), including a dedication program of a U.S. naval air station in the Philippines and travel booklets advertising Hong Kong and the Federation of South Africa, as well as one booklet published by the U.S. embassy in Teheran, Iran, regarding the pleasures of travel there.
