Description
Collector. A photostatic copy of a letter (1893) by Newt Locke to his brother Tom, describing in detail his participation in the land run of 1893 into the Cherokee Strip, with accounts of the settlement of Hennessey, Oklahoma Territory, and Enid, Oklahoma Territory, and of the people who settled there, with a description of their modes of transportation. The letter concludes with Locke’s decision to return to the United States, due to his disenchantment with Oklahoma Territory.
