Collector. Diaries (1851–1865) of John F. Lafferty, who enlisted in Company “E” of the Ohio militia and served during the Civil War. Included are hand-drawn maps of Union battlefield maneuvers and artillery batteries, as well as listings of daily rations given each soldier. The diaries are written almost exclusively in Pitman-style shorthand and have not been transcribed.
