Correspondence (1936–1947), including postcards (1907–1910) regarding family matters, Murphy’s record as state commissioner of labor, and his retirement from that office; certificates (1896–1939) appointing Murphy a U.S. deputy marshal in Oklahoma Territory, incorporating the Oklahoma Association for Old Age Security, Inc., and nominating Murphy for the office of commissioner of labor; news clippings (1933–1950) regarding Murphy, and state and national labor concerns; cards (1935–1950) certifying Murphy’s membership in fraternal organizations and from Murphy’s re-election campaign; publications (1936–1947), including booklets regarding national labor affairs; a campaign poster (circa 1940) printed by the Democratic Party of Oklahoma; pocket ledgers (1907) containing names and addresses, as well as a list of delegates from Oklahoma and Indian Territories attending an unidentified conference in 1907; and a funeral register (1952) signed by friends paying last respects to Murphy after his death.
