Professional organization. Records of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. Included are subject files (1960–1992) covering topics such as All-State Band, Orchestra, and Chorus, conventions, financial records, executive board files (1985–1992) including correspondence, minutes, and reports; president’s files (1967–1971); and printed materials including a copy of “Isaac Days Book,” a handwritten drum instruction book (circa 1776). Also included are transcripts of oral history interviews conducted by George McDow with Oklahoma school band directors; printed materials regarding band contests and festivals; a copy of “Instrumental Handbook” (1949–1950); and a copy of “These Things I Remember—A Story of My Life,” by Oakley H. Pittman.
