Zoologist. Consumer rationing books (1943) issued during World War II to the Ortenburger family; and journals (1892–1898) maintained by Charles C. Dean, Ortenburger’s father-in-law, of visits to Florida, Mexico, and Guatemala, for zoological research and vacations. Also included in this collection is a letter (1921) from Raymond L. Ditmars, whom Ortenburger considered one of the better herpetologists of his day.
