Merchant. Correspondence (1902–1948) concerning the death of Thompson’s son in France during World War I, and the controversy over a new townsite for Walters, Oklahoma Territory; publications (1913–1919) regarding the Allies’ victory in World War I and Oklahoma’s contributions to the cause; a program (1936) of the Wichita Mountains Easter Pageant; and certificates (1885–1920) appointing Thompson postmaster of a small city in Texas, a member of the official reception committee in Oklahoma City for President Woodrow Wilson, and chairman of the Democratic Party Precinct Committee. Also in this collection are a scrapbook and a typescript (n.d.) of a speech by Thompson regarding the origin and early years of Walters, Oklahoma Territory.
