Soldier. Correspondence (1946–1953); newspaper clippings (1944–1953); and published materials, including magazines and event programs regarding Vance’s death, his posthumous receipt of the Congressional Medal of Honor, the renaming of the Enid, Oklahoma, Army Air Field in his honor, and the dedication of a dormitory at the University of Oklahoma in his name, all in recognition of his wartime achievements. The collection also includes correspondence (1933–1945) regarding his father’s death, as well as letters of praise he received from his parents while he was a student at the University of Oklahoma.
