Correspondence (1912–1977) between Alice Hurley Mackey and her brother, Patrick Hurley, regarding Hurley’s duties as the national attorney of the Choctaw Nation, as a colonel in the American Expeditionary Forces, as secretary of war during the Hoover administration, and as an ambassador during World War II. The collection contains Hurley’s correspondence with Herbert Hoover, Henry Luce, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Madame Chiang Kai-Shek. Also included is a diploma (1912) issued to Alice Hurley by the Sisters of Saint Joseph Carondelet in Missouri.
