Military base. Newspaper articles (1941–1959) and publications (1945) regarding the U.S. Naval Air Station and the U.S. Naval Air Technical Training Center, both of which were located in Norman, Oklahoma. Included in the collection are stories regarding the establishment, operation, and closing of the bases, and the condition of life there, along with information on their subsequent acquisition by the University of Oklahoma; and a historical survey report (1996) on the site by an architectural planning firm.
