Territorial governor. An autobiography (1832–1893) of Governor Seay describing his childhood, his terms as an associate justice of the Oklahoma Territorial Supreme Court and later as governor of the territory; a biography (1915) of Seay, including a history of his family, written by Clark Brown; typescripts of Seay’s diaries (1862–1864, 1892–1893), in which he recorded his experiences as a Union soldier in the Civil War, and his actions as governor of Oklahoma Territory. Also included in this collection are typescripts of letters (1905–1909) sent and received by Seay, regarding the events of his life after his retirement from government, and his pivotal role in early territorial politics.
