Description
Pioneer and banker. The memoirs (1877–1949) of Sam Smith, in which he recorded his and the Smith family’s adventures in frontier Kansas and Colorado, and their participation in the land run of 1893 into the Cherokee Strip. Of note are his accounts of life and social conditions in a number of Kansas and Colorado towns, and also his mother’s reaction to moving into the family’s first sod house.
